OK. The guitar riff & chord pattern in Joy Division’s “She’s Lost Control”? The one with the single ascending intervals?
WHICH NIRVANA SONG IS THAT SAME PATTERN USED IN?
I KNOW I’ve heard it in a Nirvana song and I CAN’T REMEMBER WHICH ONE.
(I put on “Permanent” because we’ve been listening to Joy Division ripoff bands all day and decided that we needed to listen to the original)

The riff on “She’s Lost Control” is very similar to the chorus of Nirvana’s “Dive”. The guitar riff and key change in the chorus was similar enough for my subconscious to latch onto.
